Create your QR-bill in three steps

1. Enter who is being paid: name or company name, street, postcode, town and IBAN. Only Swiss (CH) and Liechtenstein (LI) IBANs are allowed by the standard; the generator, like the banks, refuses a French or German IBAN.

2. Enter the payment: the amount in CHF or EUR, and additional information such as “Invoice 2026-014”. You can leave the amount blank: your customer then fills it in, as on the old blank slips.

3. Download the PDF. The slip fills the bottom of an A4 page at the official size, with cutting lines and the scissors symbol. By email, send the PDF as it is; your customer only cuts it out if they print it to pay at a counter. For a letter by post, the SIX standard requires printing on white perforated paper of 80 to 100 g/m².

QR-IBAN or normal IBAN: which reference?

With a normal IBAN, the one shown in your e-banking, you need no reference. That is the case for most freelancers and tradespeople. If you want one, it must be a Creditor Reference starting with “RF”.

With a QR-IBAN (a special IBAN whose positions 5 to 9 are between 30000 and 31999, issued by your bank for automatic reconciliation), a 27-digit QR reference is required. Here, just type your invoice number in digits: the generator pads it with zeros and calculates the check digit.

From 14 November 2026, a QR-IBAN can only be used in CHF (SIX guidelines 2.4); the generator already applies this rule and refuses a QR-IBAN in euros. If in doubt, use your normal IBAN and leave the reference blank: the slip will be valid.

What this generator does, and what it does not do

It does one thing: the QR payment slip, correct first time. Fields are cleaned to a safe subset of the characters allowed by SIX and cut to the permitted lengths (70 characters for a name, 35 for a town, 140 for the additional information), because a single forbidden character is enough to get a slip rejected when it is scanned.

It does not make the invoice: no service lines, no VAT, no logo, no numbering, no client list, no history. And it keeps none of your input: for the next invoice, you type everything again. That is deliberate.

If you send one or two invoices a year, this generator is enough, as are the generators from UBS, Raiffeisen and PostFinance. If you invoice every week, the typing is what costs you time: the Fele-facture app keeps your profile and clients, and creates the full invoice with its QR-bill from a dictated sentence or a photo of a work order.

Your data: your input is not stored

The form sends what you type to our server, which builds the PDF in memory and sends it back. Your input is written neither to a database nor to our technical logs, and we ask for no user name or email address. The PDF is built by our server functions, hosted by Vercel in Frankfurt.

We only count how many slips are created, without their content, to know whether the tool is used. A limit of 5 slips per visitor and per hour stops robots from abusing the service. To apply it, the server keeps your IP address and the time of your requests in memory for a short while, without writing them anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR-bill generator really free?+

Yes. There is no account to create and no email to give; you can create up to 5 slips per hour from the same connection. The generator produces the QR payment slip alone. What Fele-facture charges for is the full invoice with the QR-bill built in, in the app (Independent plan, CHF 15/month); the app also has a Free plan of 5 invoices per month, without the QR payment slip.

Will banks accept the QR-bill created here?+

The slip is produced with the open-source SwissQRBill library, following the SIX standard: official dimensions, Swiss QR Code with the Swiss cross, structured address (type S). We still advise you to scan your first slip with your own banking app before sending it: it is the only test that counts, and it takes ten seconds.

Can I create a QR-bill without an amount?+

Yes. Leave the amount blank: the slip then has a box that the payer fills in. This is useful for a donation, a voluntary contribution or a deposit still to be agreed.

Can I create a QR-bill in euros?+

Yes, the standard allows Swiss francs (CHF) and euros (EUR). The account must still be a Swiss or Liechtenstein IBAN, and your bank must accept euro payments on it. From 14 November 2026, a QR-IBAN can only be used in CHF (SIX guidelines 2.4): for euros, enter your normal IBAN, with an RF reference or with no reference.

Do I need perforated paper to print the slip?+

Only if you send it on paper. The SIX standard (guidelines 2.3, chapters 3.1 and 3.3) then requires white perforated paper of 80 to 100 g/m²: the perforation separates the payment part and receipt from the rest, even when the slip is enclosed separately. If you send it as a PDF by email, perforated paper is not needed: the generator's PDF carries the cutting lines and the scissors symbol required in that case (chapter 3.7).

How do I put the QR-bill directly into my invoice?+

This generator gives a separate PDF that you attach to your invoice. To get a single page, with your services at the top and the QR payment slip at the bottom, you need invoicing software. In Fele-facture, you dictate or photograph the job and the invoice comes out complete; the QR-bill is included from the Independent plan (CHF 15/month), with a full 48-hour trial as soon as you enter your IBAN.
